Friday Favourites

Hi, friends, Thanks for stopping by to have a look at this week’s Friday Favourites. Hope you all had a great week and as usual, I’m excited to be linking up with Andrea and Erika today. First up, this delicious tea – I picked up this cute and inexpensive teapot at Ikea before lockdown as I had a real urge to make ‘real’ tea just like a good friend of mine always does (she’s from England and she knows her tea!). Usually, I just use teabags but I discovered this Australian leaf tea and gave it a try. I’m happy to say that I really loved it, it made me all warm and cosy. Coffee is great too but I generally prefer tea. My English friend gave me this really cute tea towel which explains It all! Back to work – Yup! Back to work for me after two weeks off for term break. All school children are back to online learning but Preschools, schools, and long daycare centres are open for children whose parents are essential workers. This means that this week we’ve had either one or three children at the most come along to preschool. As there are hardly any children attending, all of our staff have been put on a part-time roster. Although I work full time I am now only rostered on for half my usual load. So it was great to see some of my work colleagues but will miss seeing all of them until things get back to normal. Whenever that will be, who knows at this point? The only two little friends who turned up on Friday made this. Isn’t it cute? So fun seeing how creative preschoolers can be. Healthy food favourites- For this weeks Friday favourites I have to include these delicious vegetables. I chopped all these to go into my chicken stir fry on Wednesday night. It was a real winner! Making focaccia was so great this week. It goes to show how resourceful you can be when you run out of bread during lockdown! Yum so crunchy on the outside but soft in the middle. You can read about it here Friday night snacks- I love starting off the weekend with this- I’ve tried other ginger beers but this one is my favourite for sure! I drink water during the week but once the weekend hits, this is how I like to start, with a glass or three of Bundaberg ginger beer! Yes ma’am. I also love Kit Kats! especially on Fridays. I feel less guilty eating them on a Friday night. I buy the small ones in a fun pack and you get eleven of them. This way I only ever eat one small one because I know that if I bought the big blocks I would be way too tempted to eat more. A sweet movie – Lastly for this weeks Friday Favourites, Thursday night we watched Silver Skates on Netflix. Lockdown has us watching a lot more Netflix and Stan. The movie was all in Russian with English subtitles. It was a really lovely romantic movie with beautiful scenery. Thanks for joining me in having a look at some of this week’s Friday favourites. Hi, friends, and Happy Friday to you!! I’m excited to be linking up with Andrea and Erika today First up, look at these delicious Jam drops! I made these earlier in the week and they were definitely popular. My recipe is a classic but with a healthy twist and you can find it here. They sure didn’t last long at my house!! I added a pumpkin to my grocery order this week and look at this beauty! So big!! I’ll soon be making more wintery soups and pumpkin mash. Oh my goodness, my roots were in desperate need of colouring. A while ago I noticed my work colleague’s hair looking exceptionally shiny, so I asked her what she had used and she put me onto Garnier Olia. My previous hair colour product left my hair dull and dry after a couple of weeks. But after using The Garnier Olia, I’m finding my hair to be much healthier! Hot chocolates for the win! It was a cold night, so we had some hot chocolates and marshmallows. We settled in for a movie night but it was so cozy and warm, that unfortunately, I fell asleep halfway through the movie. I did wake up for the ending. Haha the movie felt very short. My cat ‘Sushi’ is so loved.  I caught her having a nap on my soft blanket. She’s so cute. Dinners together with my family always make my heart sing. That’s it Friends, a short Friday Favourites post this week. We are still in lockdown and at this point, we don’t know when it will end. Sigh! I go back to work at preschool next week after the Term break. Schools and Early childhood Services are open. But only for children whose parents are essential workers. Hey! Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to my very first Friday Favourites Post!! and on this fine Friday I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika Covid Again- Well! what can I say, we’re in lockdown here in Sydney, Australia. Initially, it was for a two-week period. But after hearing Our Prime Minister and Premier speak at a press conference this morning, I really won’t be surprised if the period is extended. Sadly we just have too many cases popping up at the moment. So….. This has been a favourite this week Words With Friends-  My sweet friend and I have been playing this throughout the week. In fact, we both work at the same preschool and had been really looking forward to the end-of-term break. We had big plans to go to lunch, High Tea and maybe even a Spa day. But you know, COVID. Anyway, Words With Friends has been a fun way to keep in contact plus we’re chatting on messenger a lot. Click and Collect- As we can only go out for essential purposes. I made sure I did a big shop earlier in the week and used Woolworths Click and Collect. Click and Collect was a great way to get in and get out fast!  Definitely a favourite!!  I do know some Woolworths stores offer Direct to boot service but my local one doesn’t. Argan Oil Infused Brush- I found this brush a couple of weeks ago. My old brush fell apart so when I spotted this one I thought I’d give it a try plus it was half price at $8.00. It’s infused in Argan Oil. What on earth did that mean?   I Immediately stopped and googled while at the shops and read that apparently, Argan oil is infused into the prongs of the brush. So it detangles, adds shine, and smooths frizz. In fact, I’m probably the last person on earth to discover this. Anyhow, If you read my post on my lifelong frizzy hair battle you’ll for sure understand how excited I was to discover this brush. Less frizz…. I was sold!!   Rainbow Pencils- Aren’t these rainbow pencils the cutest? We ordered them from Amazon and the pencils were delivered to my house earlier this week. Our preschool runs an annual Treasure-Hunt-a-Thon. It’s a fun holiday project for the families and a fundraiser for our preschool! Families sponsor the use of recycled materials to make a fantastic creation during the holidays. The Children bring their projects back to preschool the first week back of Term 3. Each child receives a certificate and a small prize. This year we thought these pencils would be the prize. Win-Win!! This made me smile- Notice The Hope decoration next to the hand sanitizer. My husband (Steve) hung his sanitizer there so as not to forget it.                  Lastly- Steve and I did a drive through Mcdonald’s and treated ourselves! That was most definitely a highlight for me. I had really been craving a Big Mac!! and after being stuck at home all week this was a BIG favourite!! That’s it for now Friends.
