pet peeves

Pet Peeves

Hi friends it’s so great to be back here today with Shay and Erika for this month’s edition of Let’s Look. And today we are going to talk about some pet peeves! This is such a relatable topic, isn’t it? We all have those little things that drive us nuts and some pet peeves are pretty funny. But of course, there are other pet peeves that are just plain annoying. So let’s vent, relate and explore the funny (and sometimes frustrating) world of pet peeves together! Pet Peeves People Who Talk During Movies- My husband is one of them and so now we call him ‘Captain Commentary’. When the last of the toilet paper gets used and doesn’t get replaced or gets replaced like this. People who are constantly unpredictable and hard to read- I get very stressed around moody people. Especially those who are friendly one day and then give you the cold shoulder the next day. People who bring down the energy of a room with their negative mood- I get it that some days are hard but I’m a glass-half-full kind of person and constant negativity is such a drain! Not covering the mouth and nose when sneezing- This happens every day with the kids at preschool. Thankfully I have developed some pretty good ninja skills and can usually duck for cover. People who drive with their high beams on and blind me at night. People who constantly sniff- blow your nose already! Stepping on or kneeling on a Lego brick ….ouch! When I do a load of laundry and someone has left a tissue in their pocket that then goes all over the clothes-that someone is usually me and I want to yell at myself. When you say a bright sunny good morning to someone and they totally ignore you. Dealing with rude people makes me sad. Cracking knuckles sends shivers down my spine Stating you look tired- when someone says that to me I want to wear a paper bag over my head for the rest of the day. People who lick their fingers to turn a page-ugh! When customer service says” Your call is really important to us” but you still have to wait forever. Shampoo always runs out before the conditioner so I have tons of bottles of conditioner and sometimes I forget to buy the shampoo. Why can’t they run out at the same time? When kids pick their noses- I usually tell them that their legs might fall off if they keep doing it but they know I’m joking so they still keep right on picking. People who spit in public places- I’m heaving just thinking about it. Opening a door to come into a room and then leaving it open when they leave- I always want to yell out” Do you live in a tent!” But I don’t because I don’t want to be rude and rudeness is one of my pet peeves. Being unkind to others is one of my biggest pet peeves. Choosing kindness is the way to go and it can make a world of difference! When you let a car cut in front of you and they don’t say thank you. Hair in the drain-It’s always my hair but it still makes me gag every time that I clean the shower drain. Bleh!! Gee, I didn’t know that I had so many pet peeves! But it sure feels good to get them off my chest!! Thank you so much for being here today. I really appreciate you guys stopping by to have a read. And I hope that you have a fantastic Wednesday!

Favourite Cleaning Hacks

Hi there friends! I’m excited to be back today linking up with Adrienne, Dara, Jen, Joanne, Lauren and Sarah for Not Just A Mom. Today we are going to be looking at Favourite Cleaning Hacks. As someone who loves a clean home, I am always on the lookout for new and easy ways to keep my space looking nice and tidy. So I really love exploring new cleaning hacks. Because let’s face it who doesn’t love a good easy hack that makes cleaning less of a mundane chore? Why Are Cleaning Hacks Great? My favourite cleaning hacks always offer creative ways to tackle everyday cleaning tasks to make life a whole lot easier. They save me time and money and a big bonus is that they use simple household items that I usually already have at home. Cleaning hacks also help me to become more efficient and effective in my everyday cleaning routine. By learning new and alternative methods of cleaning. I can reduce the amount of time and effort needed to smash out certain tasks. And I love this because it gives me more time to get onto doing other things that I would much rather spend my time on. Cleaning hacks aren’t just great for getting things done in a flash, they also save my sanity! Because they give me a sense of control and accomplishment and this helps to reduce anxiety and stress. Yes, I sure love a good cleaning hack! I recently wrote a Simple Cleaning Hacks post. And in this post, I listed a whole lot of easy, quick and eco-friendly ideas to make your cleaning routine a breeze and you can find this post right here. But today I also wanted to share my favourite big cleaning hacks that bring together all the little tips and tricks into a complete and thorough cleaning routine. Cleaning Hacks Declutter Regularly Regularly organizing and decluttering your home makes cleaning so much easier and way more efficient. Get rid of all the stuff taking up space that you no longer need and then find a place for everything else. Create A Cleaning Schedule If you plan out a weekly or monthly cleaning schedule that includes all the necessary tasks then you won’t miss anything and you’ll be able to stay on top of your cleaning game! Use A Cleaning Checklist I used to dislike checklists because they reminded me of school assignments but now I’m a total convert!  I think that making a list of all the cleaning tasks that need to be done is a fantastic guide. And  I don’t have to waste time trying to remember what needs to be cleaned or worry about missing something. I have discovered that checklists are quite friendly and helpful. Furthermore, it’s also very satisfying to tick off all the tasks as I go. Have All The Right Equipment In One Place Having all the right cleaning tools and equipment in a cupboard or a caddy can make all the difference. It saves you time from trying to find what you need and you can get right onto knocking those cleaning tasks off your list. Clean As You Go This is such a top tip! Instead of waiting until the house is a mess, clean as you go throughout the day. Wipe down surfaces, put things back where they belong after using them, and tidy up as you move from one task to another. Cleaning can be a pain but it doesn’t always have to be. These cleaning hacks and tips have transformed my cleaning routine from a major chore to a more manageable and satisfying task. Happy Easter Weekend

Hey friends Happy Easter weekend! I have a few quick favourites to share before I jump off and go spend time with my family. I’m On Holidays! Oh my goodness Term one has left me exhausted and I am very excited to be off from work for two weeks! So this has to be at the top of my list for today’s Friday favourites! The Chips Were Great! Last time we went out for our monthly dinner at the club with friends. The chips I ordered with my meal were like cardboard and really bad quality due to a major chip shortage in restaurants and supermarkets. But this time they were back and boy were they good! The Walking Dead I honestly never ever thought that I would watch this show. I’m all for action, adventure and drama but definitely not flesh-eating zombies. No way! But when Sam asked me to watch this series with him I was all in. I will never take for granted that my 18-year-old wants to watch a series with his mum. And the best part is, it is actually a really good show and I’m loving it! Every episode so far has ended on a cliffhanger and Sam and I end up yelling at the television…WHAT! NO!! I’m sure we will be binge-watching this like crazy for the  next two weeks while I’m on holidays. Fun Australian Autumn Fact We don’t have many native deciduous trees and we mainly have evergreens. So we don’t get all the pretty changing colours of the leaves on the trees in autumn, not where I live in Sydney anyway. And although I complain about the cold a lot. Our coldest autumn days are probably warmer than some summer days in other parts of the world. So as I was walking to work the other morning I snapped a few pics of the trees. See how green they are and some of them are even blooming pretty purple flowers! Date Night Steve and I went out to dinner in Newtown to a place called Pastizzi Cafe and I wore my fun orange top. I don’t usually wear a lot of colours as I like to stick to neutrals. But I really love this T-shirt that I bought from Mitchell Road Antiques a couple of years ago. Dinner was great and we both ordered the veal which came with creamy mashed potato, vegetables and lots of delicious sauce. Swiss Miss I went to Costco again! I don’t think that I have ever made this many trips to Costco in a year ever before. And this time I found my favourite hot chocolate which we can’t get at any of our other supermarkets. I have been on the hunt for this deliciously sweet hot chocolate. I either missed out last year because they were sold out or it didn’t make it to the Costco shelves over here. So I was very excited to find it in stock this time and I’m sure that this massive tin will last me a while. Easter Treats These mini KitKat eggs were good! One of my gorgeous little preschoolers gave me a Ferrero Rocher Easter egg. And these are my absolute favourite chocolates! I have been having one every night as a treat. And a lovely preschool parent parent gave us some cute Easter biscuits. Happy Easter Weekend! Easter is a special time because it’s a time to celebrate the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and to be reminded of the hope and joy that comes with his resurrection! Easter is all about the power of forgiveness and redemption, and the incredible love that God has for each and every one of us! Well, it’s time for me to sign off and go spend time with my family on this Good Friday. We’re all gathering for lunch, and I can’t wait to enjoy some delicious food and  a fun time together!  Thank you so much for stopping by today-I really appreciate it and I hope that you all have an amazing weekend! linking up with Andrea and Erika

fashion mistakes to avoid

Fashion Mistakes To Avoid

Fashion is all about fun, self-expression and of course, creativity! It’s a wonderful way to showcase your incredible personality to the world. Fashion is a great way to enjoy experimenting with different styles and looks. However, there are certain fashion mistakes that can make even the most stylish person look frumpy or outdated or even both! In this post, we will be looking at some common fashion mistakes to avoid, so you can look your best and also feel confident in the fashion choices that you make. WEARING CLOTHES THAT DON’T FIT PROPERLY One of the most common fashion mistakes is to wear clothes that just don’t fit properly. Whether it’s clothes that are too big or too small. Clothes that don’t fit can really make you look unpolished and sloppy. To avoid this make sure that you try your clothes on before you buy them and pay close attention to how they fit. A top tip is to go for a larger size if you find that you are in between sizes. That way you have the option of getting it tailored to fit perfectly. WEARING TOO MANY TRENDS Try not to get too excited about current trends and instead be selective about what you wear and what really suits your personality and body shape. The last thing you want to do is look like a fashion victim! Consider choosing a trending style that you can incorporate into your current look. This is a subtle way to stay on trend yet still maintain the look that you feel comfortable in. NOT DRESSING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE We all have unique body shapes, so it’s important to dress for our individual shape. If you find that you are uncertain about what shape you are then take some time to do a bit of research and learn what styles work in your favour and flatter your body. NEGLECTING YOUR ACCESSORIES Accessories are a major component of any outfit, and neglecting them can make your outfit look incomplete. Therefore make sure to carefully choose accessories that will complement your outfit. WEARING CLOTHES THAT ARE TOO OLD OR TOO YOUNG FOR YOU It’s important to dress for your age and choose outfits that are appropriate for the occasion. If you wear clothes that are either too old or too young for you. Then you risk looking and feeling awkward. If you find that you are uncertain about how a certain outfit looks on you. Then it always helps to ask someone you trust for their opinion. WEARING CLOTHES THAT DON’T MATCH YOUR PERSONALITY The wonderful thing about fashion is that it is all about how you can express your personality. So it’s important to choose clothes that match who you are and clothes that make you feel confident. If you are bubbly and outgoing then you will probably be drawn to bright colours and bold prints. But if you are more of a minimalist then you will feel much more at ease wearing simple neutral pieces. WEARING CLOTHES THAT ARE TOO REVEALING It’s always much more tasteful and classy to avoid revealing too much. DON’T NEGLECT YOUR UNDERGARMENTS It’s important to make sure that your underwear fits properly and doesn’t show through your clothes. After all, underwear is the foundation of any outfit and the last thing you want is to have unwanted lines, creases or bumps. It can really make or break any outfit! NOT TAKING CARE OF YOUR CLOTHES If you invest in clothes then the most sensible thing to do is to take good care of them. Make sure to follow the care instructions on the label to make them last longer. NOT BEING CONFIDENT Confidence is the most important fashion accessory to any outfit. Therefore it’s important to wear clothes that make you feel good. WEARING TOO MUCH MAKEUP Makeup is a fun way to express yourself, just make sure that you don’t overdo it. Because wearing too much makeup can make you look tired or older. It’s safer to stick to a natural look that will enhance your features without overpowering them. NOT DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER Make sure to take a minute to check the weather forecast before you plan your outfit. The last thing that you want to do is wear clothes that are either too heavy or too light. Because you will feel totally unprepared and uncomfortable all day long. NOT EXPERIMENTING WITH NEW STYLES Be careful not to stay stuck in a fashion rut with the same styles on repeat. Don’t be afraid to experiment with new styles and trends to keep your wardrobe fresh and exciting. You might surprise yourself with how much you like a current trend and then incorporate it into your ‘look’. OVER ACCESSORIZING Accessories can add interest to an outfit but it’s always a good idea to not go overboard. If you wear too many accessories it can look overwhelming and the accessories can become the focal point of your outfit instead of the outfit itself. Remember to choose a few pieces that complement your style. CHOOSING QUANTITY OVER QUALITY Try to see clothes as an investment and opt for buying fewer good quality pieces. Fast fashion can be very tempting as it is so cheap but you will find that these pieces won’t last. They are generally made from lower-quality fabrics and may only be on trend for a season. Furthermore, fast fashion is also terrible for the environment. NOT TAILORING YOUR CLOTHES Whether it’s shortening a hemline or sewing in a cinched waistline. These small alterations can make a world of difference in how your clothes look and feel. NOT CONSIDERING YOUR SHOES Always choose shoes that complement your outfit and that are appropriate for the occasion. Make sure that they are in good condition and not dirty or scuffed. The wrong shoes or shoes that are in poor condition will undo any nice-looking outfit. DON’T FOLLOW TRENDS BLINDLY It’s great to keep your wardrobe fresh

April Edition Of Currently

Hey, friends welcome back to the April edition of Currently. I am excited to be linking up with Jennifer from Overflowing With Thankfulness. And today we are going to chat about what we are currently loving, hoping, playing, needing and feeling. So let’s jump right in! LOVING I am absolutely loving my Rest Duvet Sivercool sheets! Not only are they incredibly soft and comfortable, but the Silvercool technology keeps me cool all night long. This has been an absolute godsend during the hot, humid sticky summer nights we have just had. Furthermore, they have also really helped me get through some major hot flashes during the night! We only have one set of these amazing sheets, so when I change them and we sleep in regular cotton sheets, it’s just not the same and I don’t sleep as well. I never thought that I would find better sheets than my one-thousand-thread cotton sheets! But the Rest Duvet Silvercool sheets beats them hands down. My husband loves them too which really says something because he’s usually resistant to change when it comes to bedding. HOPING Well, the change of season is well and truly upon us. So I’m hoping to embrace the change from hot weather to cooler weather and live in the moment. I’m going to try hard not to wish the days away until it’s spring again. I did choose mindfulness as my word of the year! So the next few months are really going to test me haha!! PLAYING I’m a huge fan of word games like scrabble but these days my family never seems to be at home at the same time to play. So I have really been enjoying playing Word With Friends on my phone. It’s such a fun game and I love the challenge of coming up with new words and strategically placing them on the board for hopefully some big points! I have also started playing Homescapes. The little characters are so cute and I like doing the challenges to unlock higher levels. NEEDING I am in serious need of a break and thankfully the holidays are just around the corner, and I am beyond excited. FEELING I’m feeling really happy that my ankle is not hurting anymore and I can get back to walking to and from work this week. I’ve really missed not being able to do that and it’s amazing how I took for granted being able to walk pain-free before my injury. Now that I can do it again, I’m really appreciating it and I won’t be taking it for granted ever again!   And that’s it from me today friends. Thank you so much for stopping by to read my April edition of Currently and I hope that you all have the best Wednesday!

A Cozy Weekend At Home

Hi there, friends! I hope you are all doing well and enjoyed a great weekend. For me, the weekend was an absolutely perfect opportunity to enjoy a cozy weekend at home. I didn’t have any plans for Saturday or Sunday. So I took full advantage of it by staying home all weekend long. It was so lovely to spend the time catching up on a little of this and that. It was wonderful to be in my own space, surrounded by my favourite things, and take the time just to be. I really needed a weekend like this one! Friday Night Pasta Night But before my cozy weekend at home started I enjoyed a fun family dinner on Friday night. My aunt hosted this month’s cousin connect. She is such an amazing cook and it was delicious pasta and schnitzel on the menu. An Early Egg Hunt We even had an easter egg hunt because my cousin and her family are flying to Ohio next week and they won’t be here for Easter. And to make the hunt a bit more competitive we decided to include anyone 18 years and younger. So Sam, his sweet girlfriend who are both 18 and two of my cousin’s kids who are 12 and 9 all got to hunt around my aunt’s house for chocolate eggs. It was very funny to watch these two grown-up kids against the real kids! Reminiscing We sat around talking for ages after dinner. I just love how we never run out of funny family stories. This time the conversation turned to my mum. And we all reminisced about her funny antics, especially the way that she used to tease our cat Sushi. She loved our cat and she used to tell me how much happy she felt having Sushi’s company when we were all at work and school. We all had a good laugh remembering how mum used to have staring contests with Sushi to see who blinked first. Yeah, my mum was funny and we all miss her very much. Saturday Just like that, the summer sunshine disappeared and autumn arrived. The sky was grey and it rained all weekend. I found myself reaching for my warm hoodie and I had to put cozy quilts on our beds because hey when it’s 15°C-21°C in Sydney that’s when I start to shiver hehe. Sam went to work early and Steve and I enjoyed a very late breakfast of scrambled eggs and crispy bacon with tomatoes and mushrooms. I saved some for Sam to eat when he got home in the afternoon. It was also perfect weather for hot chocolate with marshmallows. And for lighting candles and embracing the cozy atmosphere. I’m so proud of myself for sticking to my goal of meal planning every week. I think I have only had one week where things went off the rails. Despite this small hiccup, I’m happy that I haven’t let one bad week derail me. So as planned I made a mouth-watering roast lamb for dinner. It was so tender and juicy. The best part was that it was deboned which meant that carving it up was a breeze. I also made some blueberry muffins. I opened my T2 tea sampler that Sam’s girlfriend gave me for my birthday. And I made a nice cup of white tea. It really was white! A Cozy Sunday Sunday I didn’t even make it to church. Instead, I stayed home and had a late breakfast of crunchy rice bubbles. Then at around midday, Steve and I watched the last two episodes of season one of Blue Bloods. It’s such a great show and we are absolutely loving it! Steve went to work and I had a very late lunch. I made a lamb wrap with some salad and pita bread. It was so good. Then I pulled down my small box of Easter decorations. I don’t have a lot of decorations, just a few. And I scattered them around the house for a bit of a cozy Easter vibe. I added more eggs to my bowl of stone eggs that I always have on the dining room table. Hung some eggs with bunny faces on my decorative sticks. I placed a silver bunny and a couple of light-up ceramic eggs on the hallway table. A green bunny and Easter sign. And because we don’t have a lot of places to put decorations in our small house. I sat these silver bunnies on the open shelf in the kitchen. I was really happy with the small Easter touches around the house. In the evening I used up a whole lot of vegetables that had seen better days and made soup. In the evening I wrapped myself up in my soft pink blanket to watch my favourite movie ‘Volver’ with Penelope Cruz. Phew, after a hectic week at work that left my head buzzing, I was just craving a cozy weekend at home. I really needed to hibernate indoors and recharge my batteries. Now I feel ready for the short working week and I am so excited that Thursday is the last day of preschool and then it’s a wrap for term one 2023! Thank you so much for being here today. I hope that you have a wonderful week and I’m excited to be back here on Wednesday. Take care, friends! Happy Monday Linking up with Holly and Sarah Sharing on

Weekly Favourites

Hello friends and welcome to Friday! As the week comes to an end, it’s time to link up with Andrea and Erika to share my weekly favourites. It’s been a long week but the great news is that we have made it to the end. And now it’s finally time to unwind, recharge and catch up on some much-needed sleep without that alarm going off! Thriving House Plants First up on my list of weekly favourites is my house plants. I am so excited that my lovely plants are not just surviving, they are actually thriving! Now I know that I have mentioned this before but in fact, I have not been great at looking after my green friends in the past. But since I discovered the magic of a weekly watering schedule everything has changed. I mean, it’s obvious, right? How could I have not done this in the past? Duh! A Fashion Game Changer On my list of weekly favourites is Hollywood fashion tape. See this top I haven’t worn it for ages and the reason is that when I bent over even slightly, you could see all the way down to my belly button. Not good! So the other day I used the Hollywood fashion tape and what a game changer! Now I can wear my top again without worrying about any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions. A Great Way To Start The Week Monday night my aunt invited us for dinner to welcome a friend who was visiting from Brisbane. It was such a great way to start the working week. I loved knowing that I had a fun dinner to look forward to after work on Monday. Zila A cute favourite was seeing my cousin’s puppy Zila. Apparently, she’s grown since we saw her two weeks ago. Haha, I’m not sure about that as she’s still so tiny! A Sweet Surprise Well, this beautiful surprise gift from one of my little preschool friends tops my list of weekly favourites. I absolutely love Baby Ruth chocolates, and it’s not just because my name happens to be on the label! Date Night Date night on Wednesday night was so fun! We were back at St George Motor Boat Club for some seafood and lovely views. Home Grown Dessert Eating the one and only mango from our tree with a scoop of ice cream was a big favourite. It was so deliciously sweet and refreshing. Crisp Autumn Mornings The mornings are dark and chilly now so the other day I had to snuggle into my favourite soft and fluffy robe. While the cooler weather is not a big favourite this beautiful sunrise was. I went outside to take a photo this time because my kitchen window is less than sparkling and I didn’t want it to mess up the view. Spring Fashion In Autumn Even though it may be Autumn where I am, I had so much fun joining the Monthly Musings linkup to chat about essential spring fashion pieces. I just love all things fashion and spring is such a beautiful season. In case you missed it you can read all about it here. And that’s about it for my weekly favourites. I don’t have any plans for the weekend ao I am really looking forward to doing things like catching up on reading my favourite blogs, getting on top of my own posts and spending time in the kitchen baking something. It’s that time of the year when the cooler weather makes me feel like baking or cooking up some comfort food. And of course, I want to spend some time resting-it’s the perfect recipe for a relaxing weekend! I hope you guys have a great weekend and I look forward to being back here on Monday. Happy Friday everyone! **Please note that some of the links in this post may be affiliate links, which means that I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. essential spring fashion

Essential Spring Fashion Pieces

Hello and welcome to Monthly Musings! Today’s topic is all about essential spring fashion pieces and we’ll be exploring everything from transitioning our wardrobes from winter to spring to discussing favourite spring colours, accessories and wardrobe items. We have so much to cover, and I’m thrilled that you’re joining me on this fashionable journey. So let’s dive right into the world of spring fashion. Essential Spring Fashion Pieces HOW DO YOU TRANSITION YOUR WARDROBE Layers layers layers! I think that this is a top tip that I like to follow when it comes to transitioning my wardrobe. Spring is the time when I will wear my denim jacket on repeat. Denim is the type of fabric that keeps me warm but it’s not too hot either. Plus denim goes with just about everything and it never goes out of style. FAVOURITE SPRING ITEMS I think that once I start to get towards the end of winter and I can feel that spring is just on the horizon. This is when I really want to ditch the dark-coloured pants and jeans and switch to light-wash jeans. Light-wash jeans still keep me warm when we are in that cool weather period during the early days of spring but they just feel so much lighter. FAVOURITE SPRING FOOTWEAR White sneakers! Transitioning from winter footwear to white sneakers can feel so liberating and refreshing. After months of wearing heavy boots and thick socks, it feels absolutely wonderful to slip on a pair of bright, white, airy sneakers. Additionally, white sneakers have a fresh crisp look that instantly freshens up any outfit. They are just so versatile and comfortable! FAVOURITE COLOURS YOU WEAR IN SPRING Neutral colours are always my favourite all year long and so I will usually just incorporate them into my spring wardrobe. Sometimes I will add a pop of colour to my outfit like these bright shoes that I picked up a couple of years ago. I also like pastel colours such as baby blue and blush pink. These two colours are perfect for spring and they go so well with neutrals such as white, beige and grey. WAYS TO ADD SPRING TO YOUR OUTFIT EVEN WHEN THE WEATHER DOESN’T COOPERATE Sometimes when I have been really keen to wear a spring dress and the weather is just not on board with me. I will wear some tights and ankle boots to keep my legs warm. Then I will throw a lightweight jacket over the top. But this all really depends on the dress because this look doesn’t always work with all types of dresses. DO YOU CHANGE UP YOUR MAKE-UP ROUTINE IN SPRING Not really, I don’t wear a lot of makeup to begin with, and I always prefer to stick to a natural understated look. So my makeup routine is pretty much the same all year-round. That being said I do like to incorporate some spring-inspired elements into my makeup routine from time to time. I do this by experimenting with different shades of my preferred lipstick colour. And I might also invest in a pretty lip gloss. PUFF SLEEVE TREND…YES OR NO Ummmm……no. I didn’t like the puffed look in the 80s and I’m still not a fan. Although I did cave into the puff trend and I bought one white top with puffy sleeves. I have only worn it once and it looked ok but the sleeves annoyed me. But I’m willing to give it another shot and see if I can find the love for that top. DO YOU CHANGE UP YOUR MANI/PEDI COLOURS IN SPRING As I mentioned before neutral colours are always my go-to. They are so classic and timeless plus I love that there are so many variations of neutral shades to choose from. So I will always pick a colour from the neutral family such as soft pink, taupe and soft nude shades. RECOMMEND YOUR FAVOURITE SPRING HANDBAG ETC One of my favourite handbag styles is the crossbody bag and I think that they are just perfect all year round. But when it’s spring then I like to go for lighter-coloured leather or canvas crossbody bags. And that just about wraps up a few ideas on essential spring fashion pieces. Transitioning from winter to spring means that it is a great time to refresh our wardrobes with lighter and brighter fabrics. Or if you are like me and prefer to stick to neutrals, then there’s always something for everyone in the world of fun spring fashion! Everyday Life Updates

Hey, friends welcome back to this month’s edition of ‘What’s Up Wednesday’. I’m excited to be joining this monthly link-up with Shay where we are sharing some everyday life updates. We are going to chat about fun things like what we are eating, watching, wearing, and doing. As well as a whole lot of other bits and pieces of our everyday lives. So grab a cup of something delicious and let’s get going! WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK Monday- Dinner at my aunt’s house Tuesday-Meatballs, mashed potato and veggies Wednesday- leftovers for Sam. Steve and I are going out for dinner. Thursday- Pan-fried fish with chips and salad Friday- Dinner at my aunt’s house for our monthly ‘cousin connect’ Saturday-Roast lamb, potato wedges and salad Sunday- Leftover lamb in wraps with salad WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT As the days have been getting shorter and the weather is starting to cool down, I find myself reminiscing about those long, lazy summer days. The days are still quite warm but I know that soon enough I will be looking for warm sunny spots to sit in the preschool yard during outdoor playtime. But I have to remember that Australia doesn’t get unbearably cold in winter compared to other countries. So this means that there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and about. Having just typed this I still firmly believe that 14°C is freezing!!! I guess it just comes down to what your body is used to. WHAT I’M LOVING As a homebody, I love stepping through the door after a long day at work. There’s just nothing quite like the comfort of being at home. But before I can truly relax, I always do a few chores around the house. Then once I’m done and dinner is cooked, I can finally settle in and enjoy the cozy comforts of being at home. I love to light some candles and put on some soft music to create a relaxing atmosphere, and if I can manage to stay awake then I might even catch up on some TV shows. I always like to make sure that I complete some everyday household tasks first though. Because that way they won’t pile up for the weekend. And I have discovered that once I’ve taken care of my chores and feel like I’m on top of things then I can truly relax because these tasks are no longer playing on my mind. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO Steve and I have been busy with work and Sam has been busy with work and studies. But we have also managed to sprinkle in a few fun events which is really nice. Because we don’t want to be all work and no play. In March we enjoyed beautiful views when we went out for dinner. Fun times with friends enjoying yummy food. And some bright summery cocktails. It’s been a great month! WHAT I’M DREADING Nothing that’s coming up next month thankfully WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT The upcoming school holidays!  It’s been a challenging term working to settle some of the little ones into preschool. I honestly think that this year might just be one of the most challenging years ever and I have been doing this for a whole lot of years! Anyway, I am so happy that the school holidays are just around the corner. And I’m looking forward to a well-deserved break and spending time with family and friends. I’m excited to come back to preschool with a fresh perspective and renewed energy. Yep, it’s been quite a term! WHAT I’M WATCHING I’m still watching Blue Bloods at a snail’s pace. Steve and I always like to have a show that we watch together and we picked Blue Bloods. However, the trouble is Steve works such crazy long hours so this means that we don’t get many chances to watch it. I started watching a Netflix mini-series called ‘Safe’ and I’m really enjoying it. I’m planning on watching the last episode tonight. After finishing ‘The Last Of us’ recently, Sam is now keen to watch ‘The Walking Dead’ with me. I didn’t think that I would ever enjoy watching shows about zombies. But the first episode was really good and I liked it way more than I thought I would. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO Right, this minute I’m listening to the dryer. It’s been a bit rainy and humid this week so it’s almost impossible to get the washing to dry properly. I usually try to hang the washing on the line as much as possible when the weather is good. WHAT I’M WEARING I’m still wearing summer clothes and I’m loving it! WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND I’m really looking forward to our scheduled monthly family ‘ cousin connect’ dinner and this time my aunt is hosting. Apart from that, we have nothing else planned. I have been having so much trouble sleeping lately. And I seem to get hot and sweaty one minute then I’m freezing the next. Could be to do with you know…..ahem….hormones ugh! So I hope that I am able to get some good rest and sleep this weekend. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH As I mentioned before, I’m excited that it will be the school holidays. So I’m looking forward to a few fun outings. We are also in the process of planning some Easter festivities as a family. Oh yes, I nearly forgot. Steve and I are planning to get away on a mini staycation to Manly. I’m excited to visit a few bars, cafes and restaurants in that lovely beachside suburb. Fingers crossed that the weather is still warm in a couple of weeks. So I guess that wraps up a few everyday life updates. Thank you so much for joining me today and I really hope that you have the best Wednesday. I look forward to being back here tomorrow for ‘Monthly Musings’. See ya! Here is my Monday post in case you
