Hi friends, and happy Monday! It’s time to link up with Holly and Sarah to share a little weekend recap — thanks so much for stopping by 😊
Pizza and Netflix for Friday Night.

We rarely have takeaway, so this felt like a special treat to celebrate the start of the winter school holidays. I plonked myself on the couch and watched episode after episode of a Norwegian show on Netflix called Pernille, which is about a middle-aged single mum raising teens and looking after her own father. It’s a drama-comedy — mostly comedy, so I guess you’d call it a dramedy. I like that it’s light and fun and doesn’t stress me out with any heavy plots. It’s exactly what I need at the moment.
I’m using these holidays to recover from Term 2, which — as I mentioned in my Friday Favourites post— is never my favourite. But this year, it was extra challenging. I won’t say anymore except… sigh.
Saturday
I only had a short evening to relax before heading back to work for a couple of hours on Saturday. The PMC organised a family event at the local park, so I went along to help out. I didn’t have much to do except chat with my coworkers and the preschool families. The children enjoyed getting their faces painted and filling up on sweet treats. They also thought it was a hoot to see their teachers in the wild — haha!

It was a funny way to start the term break — going to work on a Saturday. But that’s okay — now I can get on with some serious holiday fun!
Sunday
I went to my aunt’s house for lunch. She made the most delicious pot roast with mashed potatoes — excellent winter comfort food. Before I left, she picked some giant avocados from her tree and gave me a whole bag full. What a treat! Gosh, those avocados are nearly as big as my head!

Here’s a size comparison with a regular supermarket avocado. Big, huh?

Monday
No alarm this morning — except I guess I’m used to waking up at 6:30, because you guessed it, I woke up right at 6:30. I’ll have to shake that habit off quick smart.
A yummy brunch.

Then in the afternoon, I watched Irish Wish, starring Lindsay Lohan, on Netflix. It was light and cute — did I really love it? Well, no, but I did like it. It’s a good, easy watch, and I recommend it if you’re in the mood for that kind of movie.
I’m about to get ready for dinner with friends at the local RSL.
I’ll be back here on Wednesday — hope to see you then. Take care.

That sounds like a lovely and relaxing weekend; even the work event sounds like it was light on the work (thankfully!).
All the food looks good!
What a great way to start the winter holidays! The pizza looks so good!
It sounds like a lovely day on Saturday.
Oh wow! Those avocados are big! x
Sometimes a light movie and comfort food is all you need to relax. #MMBC
Sounds like a great weekend! The food looks amazing.
What a relaxing and delicious weekend! Your Friday Night sounds like heaven to me 🙂
Those avocados are HUGE. I’m glad to see you are making use of them. I really love avocados and may be having some today myself. I hope you have a good break. We are having another heat wave, which is probably what you would call summer.
